Hereinafter: AROOM or Service Provider.

  1. To whom does the GTC apply?

    The GTC applies on the one hand to Locked Services Kft. (1012 Budapest, Vérmező út 10–12., hereinafter: AROOM, as service provider), and on the other hand to all persons who use the services of AROOM (players and customers).

  2. Possibility to deviate from the GTC

    AROOM undertakes to provide services under conditions different from those of these GTC only on the basis of a separate written agreement. If the GTC and the separate written agreement differ, the content of the latter shall prevail. In matters not regulated in a separate written agreement, these GTC shall prevail.

  3. Subject of GTC

    The subject of these GTC is the services provided by AROOM, the organization of escape room games, and the activities related to the service, in particular the following:

I. Reservation:

  1. Reservations for games can be made on the website www.aroom.hu online or in person at the location of the game rooms.
  2. In the case of an online booking, the customer is required to read and expressly accept these General Terms and Conditions before finalizing the reservation. Acceptance of the GTC is a precondition for finalizing the online booking or purchase.
  3. You must provide real personal details when booking.
  4. After a successful booking, we will send you a confirmation email.
  5. The booking ID can be requested on site.
  6. All bookings are final, so there is no possibility of refunding the deposit already paid or the price of the game. If there is still at least 24 hours between the start time of the game and the time of cancellation, the reservation can be re-arranged for another time by keeping the deposit. If there are still more than 24 hours until the start of the game, the reservation can be cancelled online and a refund is possible only in the form of a voucher.
  7. Cancellations or transfers will only be accepted more than 24 hours before the selected time. In case of cancellation or modification within 24 hours, the full amount of the booking belongs to the Service Provider and cannot be used for another time.
  8. If the full amount has been paid in advance and there are less than 24 hours left until the game, the Service Provider deducts the current amount of the deposit from the price of the game and issues a voucher for the difference, which can be used within 180 days.
  9. In the event of a no-show, i.e. non-appearance, as well as in the event of a cancellation within 1 hour before the game, the entire amount paid belongs to the Service Provider; there is no possibility of a refund or the organization of a new game at the expense of the amount paid.
  10. If there is a ten minute delay, the clock will start in the game. In the event of a thirty minute delay, the team will no longer be able to play and will not be able to claim a refund for the game.
  11. AROOM reserves the right to lock games due to maintenance, technical problems or changes. The booked dates may be cancelled after prior notice, or another game or time slot may be suggested.

Performance of the service

  1. The escape room service sold by AROOM does not involve the delivery of a physical product. The time of performance of the ordered service is the time selected by the customer during the booking process and confirmed in the confirmation email.
  2. The system sends an electronic confirmation of a successful online booking to the email address provided by the customer, typically within a few minutes after the booking and/or successful online payment.
  3. If the purchase relates to an electronic voucher or gift voucher, it is delivered electronically, typically within a few minutes after successful payment.

II. Payment:

  1. The current price of the games can be found on the website www.aroom.hu. Before finalizing the booking, the customer is informed of the total amount payable.
  2. Online payment by credit card is possible through the Barion online payment system. On site, the payment methods currently provided by AROOM may be used.
  3. If an advance payment is required for the given reservation, it can be made by online payment. After paying the deposit, the remaining amount must be paid at the latest before the start of the game.
  4. The deposit cannot be refunded in case of no-show, cancellation or change of time within 24 hours, in accordance with the conditions set out in these GTC.
  5. A maximum of one discount can be applied to a game. Discounts cannot be combined.

Online credit card payment with Barion

  1. Online credit card payments are processed through the Barion system. The credit card data used for online payment are not transmitted to Locked Services Kft.
  2. The Barion online payment service is provided by Barion Payment Zrt.

  1. Barion Payment Zrt. is an electronic money issuer and payment service provider supervised by the Magyar Nemzeti Bank.
  2. The customer does not need a Barion account to make a credit card payment via Barion.
  3. During the payment process the customer may be redirected to the Barion payment interface and uses the payment solution provided by Barion. The payment transaction is processed in the Barion system.
  4. With regard to the use of the Barion service, the processing of the payment and the handling of payment data, the General Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice of Barion Payment Zrt. in force at the time shall apply.

III. Participation in the game:

  1. The games are designed for teams of 2–6, 2–7 or 2–8 persons. Only one team will participate in the game; no other team will join in case of a small number. A team of more than eight persons is not allowed, even if there was a precedent for that before.
  2. The game lasts for a maximum of 60 minutes.
  3. Comfortable clothing is recommended. We provide lockers for storing bags and valuables.
  4. The environment and use of the escape rooms are different from the usual everyday rooms, so in order to use them as intended, all players are required to attend a short training and work more closely with the AROOM staff before the game.
  5. The escape room game is a simulation game in closed rooms, which can mean a great deal of mental stress and occasional physical exertion. Physical activity includes, but is not limited to, activities such as standing, bending, squatting, stretching, lifting, crawling, climbing stairs or ladders. Occasionally poor visibility or various lighting effects may occur in the room.
  6. In view of the above, participation in the escape game involves various dangers and risks. Players may suffer mental or emotional harm, and in extreme situations, physical safety may be compromised or injury may occur. The escape room is not especially recommended for people with heart disease, epilepsy, panic disorder, claustrophobia, and with other phobic diseases.
  7. The use of the AROOM games is at everyone's own risk, on a voluntary basis.
  8. The game can be used independently by adults who are of legal age and have full legal capacity. For minors, a statement signed by a legal representative is required – so please have the minor accompanied by a legal representative or sign the statement in advance.
  9. Admission is free for children under the age of 4, but a maximum of two players under the age of 4 can join a team and the team size must still not exceed the full capacity of the given game.
  10. Persons under the influence of alcohol, drugs, narcotics or other mind-altering substances or engaging in inappropriate behavior may be excluded from the game.
  11. Smoking is not allowed in the entire area of the game rooms and the condominium on site.
  12. The game also includes an evaluation at the end of the service, so an e-mail requesting an evaluation may also be sent after the game.
  13. Persons participating in AROOM games are required to:

    • use the equipment as intended, do not climb on it, do not apply a sudden force to it (e.g. punch, kick), and are obliged to try to preserve their condition,
    • refrain from entering an area closed to visitors,
    • notify the AROOM staff immediately if an accident-prone situation or damaged device/equipment is detected in the room,
    • report any signs of illness affecting themselves or those around them immediately to AROOM staff,
    • cooperate with people in the room,
    • fully comply with every instruction of the AROOM staff.

IV. Copyright, confidentiality:

  1. All AROOM games are copyrighted works and as such are automatically protected by copyright.
  2. In the AROOM game, photo, video or audio recording is strictly prohibited.
  3. Players are not allowed to disclose the details of the game, they are not allowed to disclose it to third parties, they are obliged to keep it as an AROOM trade secret even after the end of the game.

V. Liability

  1. The player is obliged to comply with the provisions of these GTC, and if he suffers an injury, accident or other damage as a result of violating it, AROOM – within the framework of the applicable legislation – is not obliged to reimburse it.
  2. The liability of AROOM – save for statutory exceptions – may in no circumstances exceed the lower of the following amounts: HUF 100,000 or the amount of actual damage. Actual damage does not include loss of profit, indirect (consequential) damage or loss, and damage or loss resulting from a third party claim.
  3. The AROOM informs the players that it has liability insurance, so the player is obliged to work with the AROOM staff to enforce any claims, in particular to record the minutes and provide any evidence.
  4. The AROOM informs players that if the injury or other damage caused to a player is attributable to another player, AROOM will not be liable for the conduct of the offender.
  5. If the player violates the provisions of these GTC, he shall be liable for the damages caused by him in accordance with the rules of liability for damages caused by breach of contract, in particular, but not exclusively:

    • the player is obliged to compensate for any damage caused to the rooms or objects resulting from improper use of the room or the equipment and devices in it.
    • A player who infringes copyright can be removed from the room and prosecuted.
  6. The Player agrees to indemnify and hold harmless AROOM from any claim, demand or liability, cost, damage or expense incurred by any third party, including any legal costs, arising from the fact that the Player violates the provisions of these GTC, expressly but not exclusively in the following cases:

    • providing incorrect, incomplete or false personal data, misuse of personal data of other data subjects,
    • damage to persons in the room during the game,
    • damage to property located in the area of the game rooms.

VI. Data protection

  1. AROOM has a data protection policy, which can be found in the Privacy Notice available on the website.
  2. The AROOM informs players that it is conducting camera surveillance in the escape rooms, details of which are available to anyone on site.
  3. In the case of online credit card payments, the data necessary to process the payment are handled by Barion Payment Zrt. in accordance with its own data processing rules. Credit card data are not transferred to Locked Services Kft.

VII. Others

  1. In matters not regulated by the GTC, the Hungarian legislation in force at the time shall prevail.
  2. The Hungarian courts have jurisdiction to resolve legal disputes arising in connection with these GTC, taking into account the mandatory statutory provisions applicable to consumers.
