Escape Room Reviews – Top Rated, Award-Winning Adventure Games in Downtown Budapest

Escape Room Reviews: Why They Matter More Than Advertising

Today, almost every escape room claims to be “award-winning.” The real question isn’t who says it about themselves, but where real escape room reviews appear, and which platform actually evaluates games on a professional level.

In the escape room world, one of the most important benchmarks is Morty. This is not just a simple review site, but an international platform where dedicated escape room enthusiasts and experienced players rate games based on set design, story, gameplay, and overall experience.

The numbers clearly show why it’s such a big achievement to be featured there:
out of more than 50,000 games worldwide, only around 300 make it onto the Best of Morty list each year. This is one of the biggest recognitions in the international escape room industry.

And most importantly:
if you choose an escape room from the Best of Morty list, you can hardly go wrong.
This list is not marketing — it is based on real player and professional reviewer opinions.

The Best Escape Room in Hungary – Not an Opinion, but a Result

The Budapest-based AROOM escape rooms have been featured on the Best of Morty list for three consecutive years, and based on Morty ratings, they are considered the number one escape room venue in Hungary.

In addition, they are ranked #1 on Tripadvisor based on guest reviews.

These two recognitions together are especially powerful:

• Morty = professional and hardcore player reviews
• Tripadvisor = large number of real guest reviews

When an escape room ranks at the top on both platforms, it usually means not only the marketing is good — the actual game experience is outstanding.

Why It’s Important to Read Real Escape Room Reviews

From the outside, it’s very difficult to judge an escape room. Photos look great everywhere, and descriptions always sound exciting. The real difference is usually revealed in what players write about:

• how cinematic the set design was,
• how logical the gameplay felt,
• whether there were slow or empty moments,
• how intense the experience was,
• how the game master supported and guided the team,
• how memorable the experience was days later.

This is exactly why Morty reviews are so important. Many reviewers there are experienced players who have played 50–100 rooms, so they have a real basis for comparison.

Typical Morty reviews sound like this:

“World-class set design and gameplay, a cinematic experience from start to finish.”
“Top-tier room with a strong story, surprises, and intense gameplay throughout.”
“Not just puzzles — a complete adventure.”

These escape room reviews say far more than a simple score.

What Does “Adventure Game” Really Mean?

The best escape rooms in Budapest today are no longer classic “key-lock-puzzle” rooms, but complex adventure games, where:

• you are surrounded by cinematic sets,
• you become part of a story,
• the game takes place across multiple rooms,
• visuals and atmosphere are part of the puzzles,
• the game has continuous pace and tension,
• real teamwork is required.

This is the level that gets a venue onto the Best of Morty list.

In Summary: If You’re Looking for the Best Escape Room

If you really want to make a good decision, this is the order you should look at:

1. Morty ratings (professional list – Best of Morty)
2. Tripadvisor reviews (real guest experience)
3. Theme and visual design
4. Gameplay and overall experience
5. Location and organization

If a venue ranks at the top on both major review platforms and is also a Best of Morty winner, that’s no longer a promise — it’s proven quality.

That’s why when people choose based on escape room reviews, Best of Morty venues almost always deliver the best experience.
